Company Information:

Doing research on companies that might be a future employer is important. First, you may want to do research to determine whether or not to pursue opportunities at the company in the first place.

Secondly, prior to beginning discussions with a company, it is helpful to know as much about their business as possible.

With the internet, the research process is significantly enhanced. No longer do you have to make extended trips to the library. Rather, you just need to bang around and see what kinds of information is available.

To assist you, we are providing links to sites that are great for research. We hope that they will speed up your effort. By the way, if you find a neat site that might be helpful to others, please drop us an e-mail note and will add it to our page.

Vault: the inside career network

My most recent favorite is vault.  A lot of free info, plus a message board.  Great for public companies.

Hoover's Online:

Hoover's is a classic.  The problem with them is that they want to charge you for more and more of the info.  You can get some of the basics for free.

EDGAR:

When it comes to financial information, EDGAR is the best! This link takes you directly to the SEC website which allows you to look up 10-K and 10-Q reports on all public (and private companies with public debt) companies. Click on the seal below to link to EDGAR.
